SAN ANTONIO, TX, March 2, 2022 – The teams at D-Web Technologies and M3 Agriculture are pleased to announce a strategic partnership to deploy low-cost smart sensors for the agriculture industry, leveraging the power of the People’s Network by Helium, Inc.
During the summer of 2021, D-Web and M3 began discussions related to LoRaWAN communication protocols, decentralized networks and low-cost sensors for agriculture. These discussions led to the team partnering on the deployment of 30 Helium Hotspots at M3 test sites throughout the western United States. The team's initial deployment received recognition from Helium in a blog that discusses M3’s efforts to improve sustainability through a unique combination of drones and sensors.
Following the success of the initial deployment, the team decided to expand their efforts, focusing on sensors that support crop and insect population monitoring. During the summer of 2022, the team will expand their footprint to include deployments that cover geographically large areas with decentralized LoRaWAN networks and sensors.
According to Nathan Moses-Gonzales, CEO of M3 Agriculture Technologies, "Agriculture is at an inflection point where the sector as a whole faces data-driven consolidation.” M3 and D-Web are partnering to combat consolidation by increasing grower to grower coordination through the development of decentralized networks and low-cost sensors.
D-Web Technologies implements networks and infrastructure that facilitate connections between devices over peer-to-peer (P2P) networks. Find out more at dweb.net.
